I'm in Nottingham for the weekend, watching this amazing spectacle:
With this amazing friend:
As cheesy as it is, I'm feeling quite lucky to be living in England for this event.
Hello Amanda,
Are you still picking up things here?
We exchanged blog comments briefly, way back in the winter of 2007/08, and you will be thrilled to discover that I have dedicated the second novel of a planned quartet to you and a few other ancient blog buddies. It is called Dark by the River. I know that my modest efforts are mere spluttering sparklers compared to your literary pyrotechnics but, if you fancy a gander, you will find me lurking between the lines of a Kindle eBook at amazon.co.uk using the pseudonymous moniker Elli Fitz.
If you are feeling especially reckless you might also glance at the prequel, Dawn by the River. It has a twist at the end which is ingenious; or perverse!
One publisher described my stories as "good stuff" but declined to offer me a contract; and a literary agent commented favourably on my plots and characters before concluding that my writing style needs "tightening" and "polishing". Hmm. Another agent stated that my planned quartet of novels was "intriguing" but...
They are not wrong; however, I would be interested in your opinion.
A PhD, eh? Well done you.
Toby.
